What to Expect:

Your first appointment will be a 60-minute assessment in one of our private treatment rooms. During this time, your physiotherapist will discuss your child’s medical history and their needs, create goals, and perform a full assessment of muscle flexibility, strength, balance, and whatever else may be relevant to your child’s condition. From these findings, a personalized treatment plan is created and reviewed in detail. You are encouraged to ask questions and participate in the session.

Subsequent treatments will last 45 minutes and may include hands-on manual therapy, exercise programs, education, and consultation. All therapy sessions are one-on-one with our paediatric physiotherapist to create a trusting relationship and foster a positive environment to provide the best quality care possible.

What is my role as a parent?

As a parent or guardian, you play an integral role in your child’s rehabilitation. Each therapy session is an opportunity for discussion and education about your child and their potential. Together with your physiotherapist, you will create goals to work towards and track your child’s progress. You are encouraged to participate in each session and ask questions, make new suggestions, and share what works best for your child and family. Depending on your child’s individualized treatment plan, you may be required to assist with a home exercise/activity program.
